Fresh prawns in a seafood sauce for a tangy way to begin a family meal


Ingredients

Method

  1. Peel the prawns (ensure you leave four unpeeled to decorate the top of the prawn cocktail).
  2. Take the lettuce and break the leaves into even sizes. Arrange the lettuce in glass serving bowls.
  3. Place the peeled prawns on top of the lettuce and season with black pepper.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, salt and Tabasco sauce. Then add the lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add a spoonful of the sauce carefully over the prawns, sprinkle paprika and chives over, then add more prawns and repeat ending with the shelled prawns on top.
  6. Serve with toasted brown bread.
