About
Fresh prawns in a seafood sauce for a tangy way to begin a family meal
Method
- Peel the prawns (ensure you leave four unpeeled to decorate the top of the prawn cocktail).
- Take the lettuce and break the leaves into even sizes. Arrange the lettuce in glass serving bowls.
- Place the peeled prawns on top of the lettuce and season with black pepper.
- In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, salt and Tabasco sauce. Then add the lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste.
- Add a spoonful of the sauce carefully over the prawns, sprinkle paprika and chives over, then add more prawns and repeat ending with the shelled prawns on top.
- Serve with toasted brown bread.
