About

A super silky, soft, and melt-in-your-mouth Indian dessert combining just a few basic pantry ingredients

Ingredients

Method

  1. Heat two tablespoons of ghee in a small pan. Roast the sesame seeds until they turn golden brown. Put to one side.
  2. In a microwave safe bowl, combine cornflour, sugar and water until lump free. Add in the cardamom and food colouring (if using). Mix to combine.
  3. Microwave for six minutes. After every two minutes remove the bowl, give the mixture a stir using a spoon and put it back for remaining time.
  4. After the first six minutes, add the remaining ghee. Mix to combine.
  5. Microwave for a further six minutes. This time, remove the bowl after three minutes, stir and put it back.
  6. After another six minutes, remove the bowl, give a final stir and microwave for a final six minutes.
  7. Pour mixture into a tin or plate greased with ghee and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes. Slice them up. Garnish with the roasted sesame seeds and serve.
