Make these delicious shortbread biscuits using just three ingredients — perfect for festive afternoon tea or homemade gifts for the teachers

Method

  1. To begin, sieve the flour into a large bowl.
  2. Wait until the butter has softened slightly and add to the flour.
  3. Add the caster sugar to the mix.
  4. Mix together well and then knead into a dough like mixture.
  5. Using a small knob of butter, grease a baking tray making sure to get into the corners.
  6. Press the shortbread firmly on to the tray. Try and make it as even as possible.
  7. With a fork stab into the mixture to create a symmetric pattern. This also makes air holes, which helps the cooking process. Bake in the oven for 15 -20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
