There are many ways to prepare this delicious drink by adding sweeteners, spices, or even natural fruit flavouring

Method

  1. Bring 180ml water to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Whisk in three tablespoons of cocoa powder until no lumps remain then add a few splashes of milk and return to a simmering heat.
  3. Whisk in a few cubes of melted chocolate, a teaspoon of sugar and cook further on the low heat, whisking frequently.
  4. When the mixture is smooth and creamy and all the chocolate is melted (usually about five minutes) then you’re good to pour into your favourite mug and serve.
