Harness the power of frozen this festive holiday season

As much as you might love cooking, prepping a festive feast can be daunting, not to mention a lot of work.

One way to make things a little more manageable is not to rule out throwing in some frozen favourites, in a bid to save time and keep things simple.

The key is to plan a festive soiree with luxury foods and platters, combined with frozen hints where possible, in order to make entertaining easier.

This Christmas and New Year let Choithrams.com take the strain and help give you a little more time with family and friends.

Even celebrity chef Nigella Lawson says "your best friend at this time of year is your freezer".

Enjoy the benefits

Buying frozen ingredients certainly saves time, plus they are ideal for unexpected guests and impromptu get togethers, particularly as many products can be cooked straight from frozen.

Here are our three top tips for buying and serving frozen products.

  1. Avoid serving catastrophes by removing desserts from their packaging whilst they are still frozen. If you want to pull them off as your own handiwork, be sure to get rid of the packaging before your guests arrive!
  2. For a homemade touch, garnish frozen vegetables (once cooked) with with fresh herbs and a corner of butter. Nobody will ever know the difference.
  3. Dust sweet treats with fresh fruit, including berries, or a sifting of icing sugar.
  4. Don't forget to buy ice cubes. Your mocktails and Christmas coolers just won't be the same without them.
